An elderly pedestrian is fighting for life after he was hit by a car at a marked crossing on Friday.
The 90-year-old man was struck while riding his mobility scooter at the pedestrian crossing on Wentworth Ln at Orange about 1pm.
He was “thrown onto the roadway after being struck” outside the Calare Public School, NSW Police said.

The elderly victim suffered life-threatening injuries from the impact.
He was airlifted to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.
The driver of the car involved, an 87-year-old woman, was breath tested by responding police, and returned a negative test result.
Her licence has been suspended as investigations continue.
The woman’s car has also been seized, and will undergo “a mechanical examination,” police said.
