AFL star Darcy Moore has recently been recruited by Sonos as their sound ambassador.

Highly respected for his leadership on the field as Collingwood club captain, and as the AFL Players Association (AFLPA) president, Darcy Moore embodies the shared values at the heart of this partnership.

“I am very excited to be partnering with Sonos as their latest ambassador,” Darcy said in a statement.

“I’ve been a Sonos fan for a long time and have seen how Sonos pushes the boundaries of what’s possible in sound, reinforcing its position as a true trailblazer in the industry, which I personally strive for in all my own sporting and personal endeavours.”

So what can you expect from the already best-selling Sonos Arc Ultra ($1,599) and the Sub 4?

With breakthrough Sound Motion technology for a more expansive soundstage, Arc Ultra brings your entertainment to life like no other soundbar.

Having tried it for myself, I can confirm I experienced clearer dialogue, a deeper bass that made me feel as though I was in the scene of The Summer I Turned Pretty, and detailed sound that comes at me from every different direction.

The Arc Ultra was easy to set up with the included HDMI cable, and powered with my regular TV remote.

As with all Sonos items, you can also use the Sonos app, the touch controls on top of the soundbar, Sonos Voice Control, and Amazon Alexa.

When your TV is off, I like to use it to stream music and podcasts from the TV speaker, and I fully intend to give it a good workout when Taylor Swift’s upcoming The Life of a Showgirl album is released.

On top of the Arc Ultra, you can also pair the Sub 4 ($1,049) for an even more surround sound experience.

Dual force-cancelling woofers deliver pulse-pounding bass and virtually eliminate distortion.

Updated with a matte finish from the previous model, the iconic design looks as great in your home as it works.

You can also set it up in minutes by plugging in the power cable and simply opening the Sonos app, with Sonos recommending you either stand it upright or lay it on its side and hide it under your sofa for a difference you can feel but not explain.

One of the great things about both of these items is their sleek design that won’t interfere with your home styling.

I am currently in the process of renovating my house, and so was keen to have a sound system that looks good as well as works well.

Sonos delivers — as always — on both counts.

With the AFL and NRL football finals around the corner, both the Sonos Arc Ultra and the Sub 4 are flying off the virtual shelves on Sonos’ website.

Feedback is also universally positive.

“Great product. Sounds fantastic,” writes one happy shopper.

A little bit expensive, but worth every cent,” adds another.

A third says: “This is a must-have if you want to be blown away.

“I have the Arc Ultra soundbar and I didn’t hesitate in thinking about getting a Sub to go with the soundbar.

“It really provides a deeper base tones and rounds out the sound from the soundbar. What I wasn’t sure of is which Sub to get. I chose the Sub 4 and I’m really happy that I did.

“It’s a little bigger but you can tuck it away if your room configuration allows. I have mine out of the way but you can still see and it’s not so big that it looks out of place.”

The reviewer concludes: “But the rich sounds and the deeper tones when paired to the soundbar is amazing. The soundbar itself puts out extremely high quality sound but you add the sub and it takes it to a whole other level”.
