Flash back eight years ago when MAISON de SABRÉ re-imagined the phone case as a luxury object.

In 2025, almost everyone you know has a stylish phone case, often one from the iconic Aussie brand.

Now, MAISON de SABRÉ has handbags in mind — and it’s one they have been working on for eight years.

Introducing The Palais — the brand’s first flagship handbag: a permanent house signature that re-interprets its archives, distills nine design codes and signals a bold new era in modern luxury.

Launching globally today (11 September 2025), The Palais takes its place as the brand’s most important silhouette to date.

“The Palais is the most significant milestone in our craft language — an icon of the unconventional,” says Co-Founder and Creative Director Omar Sabré.

It’s the purest distillation of our brand codes, carrying eight years of discipline, refinement, and ambition into one silhouette.”

According to Omar, he sketched the first version of this iconic handbag on his way home from Paris mid-flight.

“After a week among the world’s biggest luxury houses, I kept asking: what defines us?” he says.

“What tells the world we’ve arrived? The Palais is the answer — a canvas of precision that celebrates our DNA and marks the start of a new era.”

So what can you expect from this brand new landmark handbag?

First up, it’s all about the craftmanship.

Sixteen months of design and six more of material development have produced a silhouette of uncompromising craft.

Every curve and seam of The Palais has been considered to the millimetre — from its sculptural teardrop gusset, first carved in wood then reimagined through 3D modelling, to the floating seam flashing a hint of contrast suede.

Secondly, I need to highlight the material.

Sculptural yet buttery soft, The Palais distills nine MAISON de SABRÉ brand codes into one defining form: sculptural rolled handles, adaptive belting for adjustable structure, precision-cut edges and custom hardware for infinite personalisation.

The bag is made from 100 per cent LWG Gold-Rated DriTan calf leather, which is the most premium leather MAISON de SABRÉ has ever used.

I also can’t get over that the bag is and lined entirely in sueded leather — it really is that luxurious.

The bag comes in two different sizes, depending on what you want to use it for.

It also comes in a number of trend-focused and everlasting colours.

The Large Palais Bag ($949) is available in Cashmere Clay, Pecan Brown, Black Caviar and Emerald Green.

While the Medium Palais Bag ($749) is available in Cashmere Clay, Plum Red, Emerald Green, Black Caviar, Sandstone Brown and Manhattan Orange.

Beyond the bag itself, there are a number of Palais accessories.

Shoppers can snap up either the Petite Palais Charm ($149) which is a luxury handbag for your handbag.

Alternatively, they can buy the SABRÉMOJI Garden Bugs — which are Ladybug, Bumblebee, Snail, and Butterfly charms ($109 each) and a nostalgic nod to childhood discovery.

Finally, there is the $119 Sunglass Sling Case — which is a dual-tone leather clippable case with detachable, adjustable sling that protects eyewear on-bag or on-person.

Put simply: the collection is a work of art.

“The industry loves to romanticise heritage,” says Zane Sabré, Co-Founder of MAISON de SABRÉ.

“But heritage doesn’t guarantee relevance.

“The Palais proves you don’t need a century of history to create something iconic — you need conviction, execution, and a brand people actually believe in.”

“Hermès has the Birkin. We have The Palais,” adds Omar.

“It’s not a comparison — it’s a challenge.”
