Bindi Irwin has swapped Australia Zoo for Los Angeles for the next three months.

The wildlife warrior, 27, announced the “life update” in a post on social media, revealing exactly why she and daughter Grace, four, had made the overseas move.

“Not forever, just for the next three months. Australia Zoo will always be home, but we are here to support my incredible brother (Robert) on Dancing With The Stars (US),” she said.

“It was about 10 years ago that I competed (on the show), and I actually won with my amazing partner Derek (Hough).

“It was a life-changing experience that I will always be super grateful for and now my little brother’s going to be on the show.”

Bindi said making the move would allow her to be in the crowd to watch each performance first-hand, and said she and her little girl would be “cheering loudest”.

“I can’t wait to support him and cheer him on every week in the audience and maybe lend some advice here and there,” she said.

“He is going to shine though and I know in my heart that he’s going to make it far because he is such a fantastic human being.”

Earlier this year, Robert, 21, thanked his sister for “inspiring” his next adventure.

He said he sat in the audience in awe of Bindi as she and Hough dominated the competition to take home the Mirrorball Trophy for season 21 in 2015.

“There was a little part of me in my brain thinking, ‘one day that will be me’,” he said.

The siblings are the children of late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin and continue his conservation legacy at Australia Zoo on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
