Pop star Miley Cyrus has dropped new music with the song titled Secrets — dedicating it to someone special.
Cyrus shared a clip of the video on her Instagram with the caption revealing the new tune was a “peace offering” for her father, singer/songwriter Billy Ray Cyrus.
“This song was written as a peace offering for someone I had lost for a time but always loved,” Cyrus shared.

On August 25, Billy Ray dropped hints about the new music when he shared on his own social media that Miley had given him a very special gift — an unreleased song that included some rock royalty.
“For my birthday, Miley gave me the gift of music and wrote me a song called Secrets and got my favorite musicians Fleetwood Mac to play on it! I love you Mile,” Billy Ray wrote on Instagram.
The song features 80s-inspired guitars along with emotional lyrics that appear to be Miley speaking directly to her father.
“Hero (Anywhere you go),” Miley sings.
“Can I be your hero? (Anywhere you go).
“Call off all your forces (Anywhere you go).
“A white flag in the war (Anywhere you go, you know I’ll follow).”
Miley has spoken openly about the tension and tumultuous relationship she shares with her famous father.
But on May 31, the Wrecking Ball singer revealed they were no longer estranged and are now on good terms.
“I think timing is everything. As I’ve gotten older, I’m respecting my parents as individuals instead of as parents,” she told The New York Times.
“Because my mum really loved my dad for her whole life and I think being married to someone in the music industry and not being a part of it is obviously really hard.
“And so I think I took on some of my mum’s hurt as my own because it hurt her more than it hurt me as an adult.
“So I owned a lot of her pain.
“But now that my mum is so in love with my stepdad, who I completely adore, and now that my dad, I see him finding happiness, too — I can love them both as individuals instead of as a parental pairing.”
Miley’s mother Tish Cyrus-Purcell is now married to Australian actor Dominic Purcell and Billy Ray is dating British actress Elizabeth Hurley.
After her family experienced what Miley described as a “dark decade” she says moving forward from that difficult period is what inspired her latest track.
