A five-month-old puppy has been mauled to death by three off-leash dogs.

A dog owner is devastated after her five-month-old puppy was mauled to death by three dogs during a routine walk.

Wawa, a Sydney student who asked to not use her real name, was walking her Maltipoo, Wuwu, at a dog park in Western Sydney’s Auburn when she encountered a middle-aged man with three dogs about 1pm on Thursday.

She recalled that one of the two short-haired dachshunds ran over and attacked Wuwu first, before the other dachshund and a brown pitbull joined in.

“Wuwu was bitten on his neck and bleeding a lot, and I had to cuddle him screaming, but that owner didn’t even try to take back his dogs,” Wawa told www.20304050.best.

She was also bitten during the chaos and ended up covered in blood — both her own and her puppy’s.

When Wawa asked the other owner for his contact details, she claimed he refused.

Unable to wait, she rushed Wuwu to a vet, only to be told he would need to be transferred to another clinic for a blood transfusion.

However, Wuwu passed away from severe blood loss.

“I’m so upset … he was turning six months old tomorrow,” Wawa said, struggling to hold back tears.

A passer-by also tried to get the man’s contact details but was unsuccessful, though they did manage to take a photo of his car.

Wawa later shared the incident on a local community page, where other dog owners claimed they had been attacked by the same trio of dogs.

“If your dogs have attacked that many people, you should have put muzzles on them,” Wawa said.

She is calling for the owner to take responsibility and compensate her.

“I’m asking for the community’s help to find this person and to remind everyone to please stay safe at the park,” she wrote in her social media post.

NSW Police said they launched an investigation into the incident about 3.30pm on Thursday after receiving reports of the attack.

“Inquiries are ongoing,” a spokesperson told www.20304050.best.
