New clues have widened the search for a mother and daughter who police suspect were murdered in South Australia in 2000.
Rosemary Brown, then-33, and her 15-year-old daughter, Melissa Trussell, were last seen in May of that year, two months before Brown’s body was found in mangroves northwest of Adelaide.
Trussell’s body was never found.
Detectives are now searching the Mutton Cove Conservation Reserve, the third new search area since the investigation has been renewed.
It comes as members of the public have revealed new information to police, including the sighting of a blue Ford XD Falcon sedan in the days after the disappearance.
A former NSW Police officer accused of killing a Sydney couple will plead not guilty, his lawyer has told the court.
Beaumont Lamarre-Condon, 29, allegedly killed flight attendant Luke Davies, 29, and TV presenter Jesse Baird, 26, in February 2024.
Lamarre-Condon is accused of shooting the pair at Baird’s Paddington home with his service weapon, and dumping the bodies in surfboard bags on a rural property.
The bodies were found after Lamarre-Condon handed himself into police.
The case has since been littered with delays.
Lamarre-Condon briefly dated Baird, before the TV presenter began his relationship with Davies.
NSW Police allege the shooting deaths followed months of “predatory behaviour” from Lamarre-Condon, targeting Baird.
The former cop is facing two counts of domestic violence-related murder and aggravated break and enter.

A police officer has been injured in a shooting on a rural Victorian property.
There are also fears for two other officers who were sent to the Porepunkah home, near the base Mount Beauty, just over an hour south of Albury on Tuesday morning.
They were executing a search warrant at the home, when the shooting and ongoing seige situation began to unfold.
Police backup and paramedics are currently flocking to the scene.

A young man was left fighting for life on the roadside after he was struck by a car south of Perth on Monday.
The 20-year-old man was walking on Steerforth Dr at Coodanup, in the southeast of Mandurah,when he was hit about 9.30pm.
The driver of the car involved did not stop to help the victim.
A 37-year-old man has since been arrested, and is being interviewed by police.
His Hyundai Getz has also been seized as investigations continue.
A horror six-vehicle crash in the Pinjarra Hills of Brisbane has left victims fighting for life.
The vehicles crashed, trapping victims in the wreckage on Moggill Rd about 9.40pm on Monday.
A man and woman in their 60s were both taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition.
They suffered chest and abdominal injuries, Queensland Ambulance Service said.
A driver will face court on Tuesday after a seven-month-old baby was allegedly found unbelted in his car after a high speed chase in Sydney’s southwest.
The driver was spotted travelling at speeds of about 168km/h on the Hume Hwy at Blair Athol on August 7, after a domestic violence assault earlier that night, police allege.
The chase was called off due to safety concerns, but kicked off again when the car was spotted at a service station.
Police smashed the window of the car to get to the 35-year-old driver, who had locked himself inside, when they finally caught up with him in Goulburn.
The baby found in the passenger seat was checked over in hospital and is now in the care of family. Police said the baby is known to the man.
Police said the driver later tested positive for methylamphetamine, and was charged with seven offences relating to traffic, drug, and domestic violence crimes.
He was granted conditional bail and is set to appear in Goulburn Local Court on Tuesday.

The temporary move announced on Tuesday comes in response to the Trump administration’s changes to tariffs on imports set to come into effect on Friday.

New details have emerged about a driver responsible for a crash that killed both himself and another driver on the outskirts of Greater Melbourne.
Brayden Filiti, 29, crashed head-on with another car on Diggers Rest-Coimadai Rd at Toolern Vale about 9.50am on Sunday.
The Burnside Heights was spotted by police driving in a stolen car at speeds of about 160km/h in the moments before he crashed.
It is unclear whether Filiti stole the car himself, but the 29-year-old did have an extensive criminal history.
His family told 7NEWS that Filiti had spent six years of his life in jail, facing court for crimes including car and credit card theft.
They expressed their sadness for the innocent driver who was also killed in the crash.
A man has allegedly been murdered in Melbourne’s northeastern suburbs.
The 52-year-old Templestowe man’s body was found in a home on Porter St at Templestowe about 5.20am on Monday.
A 54-year-old Pascoe Vale man allegedly known to the victim was arrested at the property and charged with murder.
He will face Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
