Proud mum Terri Irwin posted a sweet throwback photo of her son Robert as the wildlife warrior prepares for his next challenge on the Dancing With The Stars stage in the US.

Terri shared an adorable picture of baby Robert being held by his father, the late Steve Irwin, on a motorbike.

“We always knew @robertirwinphotography had the legs of a dancer!,” Terri captioned the shot, poking fun at her son’s chubby legs.

The tight-knit family of wildlife warriors are very supportive of each other.

As Robert swaps his dusty boots for shiny dancing shoes, he will be tackling his next adventure with his sister and mother by his side — the new season of Dancing With The Stars. The show premieres on Tuesday in the US.

“I’ve never tried it, I don’t wear sequins, I’m not in this world at all. So it’s super new, and it’s terrifying, but it’s also awesome,” Robert told PEOPLE.

“It’s an adrenaline rush. I feel like I live for adrenaline. I’m not really living if I’m not on the edge just a little bit.”

Robert is following in the footsteps of his big sister, who won the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy in 2015.

“I wanted to do this because I was inspired by my sister Bindi, who won Dancing with the Stars 10 years ago,” he said.

“I remember coming to every live taping to watch her and thinking, ‘One day I have to do this’.”

Robert was just two years old when his father, the Crocodile Hunter, died.

Despite losing him so young, the now 21-year-old said his father was “still part of every day”.

“He’s part of every conversation. He’s part of my life,” Robert said.

“And I feel as though I get a little part of him back in some way, in every conversation I have about him or any new story I hear about him or in any new photo that I haven’t seen before.”

Speaking about his mother, Robert said: “She is just the most brave, steadfast, determined human being I’ve ever met.”

In May 2024, trolls critcised his close relationship with this mother, with some questioning why Terri always travels with her son.

During a radio interview with Kylie and Jackie O in July last year, Robert explained: “I think loss brings a family together like nothing else. People forget.”

“I think when we lost dad, our little tight knit family unit became incredibly tight.

“And we travel with the whole family everywhere most of the time. It’s nice.”
