Blame athleisure, but by now, we all know the lines between fashion and activewear are very blurred.

But it’s rare that you find something that’s smart enough for a day of meetings and deadlines, and feels good enough that you could almost train in it.

Until today. This month, Canadian activewear pioneer lululemon has launched its sumptuous Daydrift collection — which is as perfect for the office as it is the gym.

The highlight of this collection is the sellout $179 Daydrift High-Rise Wide-Leg Trousers, which come in seven different colours starting from ivory all the way through to black and several pretty pinstripe options.

Billed as the intersection between “technical and tailored”, the pleated trousers feature classic design touches that you would expect on a pair of work trousers, as well as lululemon’s clever technical details.

This particular pair of trousers uses four-way stretch Luxtreme fabric for a powerfully sleek look and feel.

With a pull-on waistband for the ultimate in convenience, the relaxed fit is roomy through the glutes and thighs and intended to skim the floor.

The fabric is breathable and sweat-wicking — making the pants perfect for sweaty Aussie summers.

It has the addition of lycra fibre for stretch and shape retention.

While the pants are relatively new to the lululemon website, they are already proving extremely popular.

“I saw these on a post by ShopwithFifi and thought there is no way I can venture into a baggy pant — but let’s give them a crack,” wrote one shopper.

“OMG I love them and have them on high rotation at work and for work travel... Wear them with Birks, Rollies and sneakers and style up with a GG belt.”

Another said: “SUPER comfy trousers, would highly recommend them. Pleaaaaase bring out a chocolate colour!!!”

While a third added: “Perfect pair of pants. You can dress them up or down. You spot need to iron them they are stretchy and very comfortable”.

There is also a men’s variation available.

The pants come hot off the heels of Gen Z pronouncing the millennial favourite leggings as “over”.

These wide-leg trousers tap into the current trends for a wider-legged, baggy style.

Elsewhere in the Daydrift collection, you can find three-inch and seven-inch shorts, as well as tapered and straight-leg trousers.
