A 42-year-old man from Rosslyn, who was known to the woman, is assisting Queensland Police with their enquiries.
Police are appealing for witnesses who were at the tavern between 6pm and 8pm on Sunday to come forward.
In particular, police would like to speak with two groups who left the premises about 7.30pm, and the occupants of a dual-cab ute who drove out of the car park at the same time and may have seen the pair.
