A man has been kidnapped at knifepoint while sitting in his car, which was later found torched, in a frightening ordeal in central western NSW.
The 54-year-old was approached by three men while he was sitting in his blue MG sedan on Maxwell Ave in Orange about 1.30am on May 15.
The group threatened the victim with a knife, assaulted him, and forced him into the back seat of the car, police said.

They then drove towards Wellington along Burrendong Way before making the man get out at Euchareena and driving off.
The car was found burning about 6am that same day at Nanima Mission in Wellington, roughly a 40-minute drive from where the man was forced out.
Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the blaze but the car was destroyed.
The victim called emergency services and was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Orange Health Service.
He has since recovered.
An investigation into the incidents has been launched.
