A Sydney woman has has been left shocked and disgusted after spotting cockroaches crawling on a shelf in an ALDI supermarket.
The shopper shared the concerning sight to social media last week after spotting at least three cockroaches at the Macquarie Centre store in Sydney’s northwest.
In the live photos, two cockroaches can be seen crawling down next to a bag of bread, while another moved above a shelf where other bags of bread were placed beside and below it.

“I was only planning to grab a few things, but the shelves were crawling with cockroaches,” the user wrote.
“Can you believe this happened in a major supermarket?”


Other shoppers also shared their experiences, reporting sightings of cockroaches at other ALDI outlets.
“There were a bunch in the Top Ryde ALDI the other day, all sorts of sizes,” one wrote.
“And at Eastgardens ALDI too,” another claimed.
ALDI Australia told www.20304050.best the incident was an isolated situation.
“At ALDI, we take food safety very seriously and our employees work hard to ensure our stores are kept clean and hygienic for our customers at all times,” a spokesperson said.
7NEWS understands ALDI has been carrying out regular pest control cleaning and inspections at the supermarket since the initial incident was reported.
