A Sydney dad has come into a $1.4 million windfall after being identified as a mystery Lotto winner officials have been searching for.
The Kellyville man was unknowingly a millionaire for five and a half weeks before checking his ticket kept in his dresser.
He is one of seven division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Lotto draw 4595, with each pocketing $1,428,571.43.

“It’s amazing news. I can’t believe it still!” the man said.
“I had absolutely no idea. The ticket was just sitting at home until I went to the newsagency to buy another one.
“I was just going to replay the ticket I had, and that’s when it showed I won.”
The Lott said the win followed recent cases of similar discoveries, including a Melbourne man from Coburg, who claimed a $1 million prize 244 days after a draw.
“The prize is going to be a big help for me and my family,” the Kellyville dad said.
“I’ll take care of my children and put away a bit for them to help them buy a house.
“I’ll definitely be going on a holiday too. I’m going to start planning it.”
The man said he found another old ticket from 2021 that he has yet to check.
“I have a bad habit of buying unregistered tickets. Maybe it’ll be another winner,” he said.
His winning entry was purchased from Kellyville Newsagency on Windsor Road.
Owners Bhumika and Purav Patel said they had owned the outlet for six years, and this was the first ever division one winning ticket they’ve sold.
“He’s a regular and had no clue that he’d won. He was in total shock and just kept saying, ‘No, you’re joking.’
“Everybody is always asking, ‘Have you sold a winning ticket? Is this a lucky outlet? Has there been any winners? And so on. Now we can finally say yes,” they said.
