The 40-year-old man was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital with critical injuries.

A cyclist suffered critical injuries in a crash with a truck in Sydney on Sunday.

The 40-year-old man was riding a pushbike when he collided with a truck at the intersection of Bourke St and Rainford St in Surry Hills.

Rainford St is a one way street which crosses over a bike path where it connects to Bourke St.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the cyclist at the scene, before he was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital, fighting for life.

The 34-year-old male truck driver was uninjured.

He was taken to the same hospital for mandatory testing.

Investigations are ongoing and anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
