Police officer among four people hospitalised after dog attack in St Marys

Two dogs belonging to one of the injured men are behind the mauling.
Four people were attacked by two dogs in western Sydney on Thursday.

Four people have been hospitalised after a dog attack in Western Sydney on Thursday.

Two dogs had already attacked three people when emergency services were called to Charles Hackett Dr at St Marys about 10am.

A man and woman in their 70s, and a man in his 50s, were found with injuries to the arms, legs, and face.

Police responding to the incident were told that the dogs belonged to one of the injured men.

An officer was also attacked.

All the victims were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics in St Marys, and then taken to Nepean Hospital in a stable condition.

Police were assisted at the scene by Penrith Council rangers, NSW Police said.

Investigations are ongoing.
