He was first taken into custody on July 10 after a phone was found inside a restricted staff toilet at The Austin Hospital in Heidelberg on July 3.
Investigators believe the device had been there “for some time” before it was noticed and reported to police.
The Heidelberg West man was initially charged with stalking and using an optical surveillance device.
He was bailed to appear at Heidelberg Magistrates’ Court on August 29.
Following an ongoing investigation, Cho was re-arrested on Friday and charged with five further offences — including three counts of producing intimate images, one count of using an optical surveillance device, and one count of failing to comply with a direction to assist.

Cho had worked at hospitals in Melbourne’s CBD and regional Victoria between 2020 and 2025, which have been identified as workplaces of interest by police, including Royal Melbourne Hospital.
He graduated from Monash University in 2022 and first registered as a medical practitioner in January 2023, The Age reported.
Austin Health has since stood him down, and the Medical Board of Australia has suspended his registration, according to the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Victoria Police said Cho had worked at hospitals in Melbourne’s CBD and across regional Victoria between 2020 and 2025, including Royal Melbourne Hospital, which are now considered workplaces of interest.
Police added they are contacting other hospitals and individuals who may have been affected, but warn the process will take time.
Cho was scheduled to face Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
