A man stepping in to stop an alleged domestic violence incident has been stabbed after a child’s birthday party.
The alleged attack unfolded after a couple left a birthday party in Adelaide about 5.30pm on Monday.
An argument between the two turned into a public brawl on Churchill Rd at Prospect in Adelaide’s inner northern suburbs after a bystander stepped in to stop the alleged abuse.

A fight broke out with friends of the alleged abuser jumping in to defend him, despite the woman screaming for them to stop.
The 30-year-old man was allegedly beaten with a metal pole and slashed in the leg with a knife.

Police and ambulance crews were later called to nearby Guilford Ave in Prospect after reports that a man had been stabbed in the legs after an altercation with a group of three youths.
“It was a teenage girl being bashed by her boyfriend, so we tried to stop the boyfriend” a witness told 7NEWS.
“He started attacking my friend, then his other mates came and stabbed my friend.”
7NEWS has been told the knife struck the victim’s bone, and he underwent surgery on Monday night to reduce the risk of an infection.
No arrests have been made, with police urging anyone with any information to contact them.
