A man has been charged after he allegedly recruited children to help carry out crimes on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula.

The 30-year-old was arrested on Monday at a home in Hastings.

It followed investigations by detectives into a series of car thefts and other crimes in the Mount Eliza, Mornington, Mount Martha, Bittern and Somers areas between August 8 and August 14.

The man allegedly recruited children to assist in carrying out some of the crimes.

He was charged with three counts of recruiting a child to engage in criminal activity, three counts of supplying a drug of dependence to a child, burglary, theft as well as a series of other offences.

He was remanded and will next face Frankston Magistrates Court on September 4.
