Bluey movie set for August 6, 2027 release in cinemas worldwide

The film will be on Disney+ and ABC iview in Australia after its theatrical run.

The release date for the long-awaited big-screen debut of Australia’s favourite animated family has been revealed.

An animated feature film based on the globally beloved ABC series Bluey will be released in theatres globally on August 6, 2027.

After hitting cinemas around the world, the film will be available on Disney+ as well as ABC iview and ABC Kids in Australia, according to a Variety report.

The film was written and directed by Bluey creator Joe Brumm and will feature the voices which have become synonymous with the series, including Custard frontman David McCormack as Bluey (and Bingo’s) dad Bandit.

A press release said the long-form story will “continue the adventures of Bluey, a lovable, inexhaustible, blue heeler dog, who lives with her Mum, Dad and her little sister, Bingo.”

The film, funded and licensed by the BBC, has been supported by both the Australian and Queensland governments.
