Queensland Health has issued an alert for a second confirmed case of measles in Cairns.
The person unknowingly spent time at a backpackers, restaurant and GP clinic while infectious between September 6 and September 10.
Those who visited the locations on these dates have been urged to watch for symptoms for up to three weeks from the exposure date.
A list of the places the person visited can be found on the department’s website.
It comes after Queensland Health was made aware of a confirmed measles case earlier this month.
The person visited a host of locations while infectious between August 28 and September 2 inlcuding the same hostel as the second confirmed case - Mad Monkey Waterfront Backpackers.
The cases have been linked to an outbreak in measles in Bali.
People travelling to and from southeast Asia into Cairns have been urged to get vaccinated.
Measles is a highly infectious virus that is spread by coughing and sneezing.
Symptoms of measles include fever, cough, runny nose, red or watery eyes and a red, blotchy rash.
“The measles vaccine can prevent illness even after exposure to the disease, if given early enough,” Cairns Public Health Unit director Dr Jacqui Murdoch said.
“Anyone born during or after 1966 should ensure they have had two doses of measles vaccine.
“This is especially important before overseas travel, as there are measles outbreaks in several regions of the world including Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia including Bali.”
The trial for an Australian man accused of smuggling drugs in Bali has begun with the accused facing the possibility of the death sentence.
Lamar Ahchee, 43, allegedly organised 1.7 kilograms of cocaine worth more than $1 million to be delivered to him in Bali in May.
He was charged with three drug offences, including importing drugs, which carries a maximum death sentence.
Ahchee’s legal team previously suggested he may have been set up.
His lawyer, Edward Pangkahlia, claimed someone else was behind the drug deal and said he wants the police to track down the person who allegedly incited his client.
It is alleged the Australian national does not know the owner of the drugs and was given orders from someone called “Boss” to receive the package and distribute it in exchange for $4745.
Brazil’s former president Jair Bolsonaro is set to be convicted of an attempted coup.
A live television broadcast on Thursday showed three of the five judges on the Supreme Federal Court voting to convict him.
The judges can still change their decisions until a verdict is pronounced on Friday, however.
In the five-member chamber, a majority of three votes is needed for conviction.
One judge voted for Bolsonaro’s acquittal on Wednesday.
Bolsonaro is accused of plotting with allies to stage a coup against the government of his progressive successor Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva following his 2022 election defeat.
According to the prosecution, he had planned to impose a state of emergency and call new elections - but he was unable to win the support of the military leadership.
On 8 January, 2023, supporters of the populist politician stormed Congress, the Supreme Federal Court and the presidential palace in Brasília.
Bolsonaro is also said to have known about plans to assassinate Lula, Vice President Geraldo Alckmin and judge Alexandre de Moraes.
The 70-year-old faces up to 43 years in prison, although the sentence could be lowered to house arrest due to his age.

President Donald Trump announced he would soon award Charlie Kirk a Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor awarded by the president.
Trump said the ceremony honoring the slain conservative activist would be large. “I can only guarantee you one thing: That will have a very big crowd,” Trump said.
The president was speaking outside the Pentagon at a ceremony honoring the 24th anniversary of the September 11 terror attacks.
Trump opened his remarks by remembering Kirk, who was a close political ally and a personal friend to many Trump advisers.
“Let me express the horror and grief so many Americans, at the heinous assassination of Charlie Kirk, have felt,” Trump said.
“Charlie was a giant of his generation, a champion of liberty and an inspiration to millions and millions of people. Our prayers are with his wonderful wife, Erika, and his beautiful children. Fantastic people,” he continued.
“We miss him greatly. Yet I have no doubt that Charlie’s voice and the courage he put into the hearts of countless people, especially young people, will live on,” he said.
