A woman has been airlifted to hospital, and three others have been injured after a two car crash south of Adelaide.
A Mazda sedan and a Jeep SUV crashed at the intersection of Victor Harbor Rd near Hindmarsh Tiers Rd about 1.15pm on Friday.
The woman behind the wheel of the Mazda was airlifted with life threatening injuries to Flinders Medical Hospital.
Her passenger was taken with non-life threatning injuries to the Victor Harbor Hospital.
Two people travelling in the Jeep SUV were also taken with non-life threatening injuries to hospital.
Traffic delays are expected with restrictions still in place. Northbound traffic on Victor Harbor Rd is currently being diverted at Hindmarsh Tiers Rd, and southbound traffic is diverted at Crows Nest Rd.
Investigations into the crash are ongoing.
Two babies have been found “visibly shaken and crying” in a dumped car at the centre of a frantic search overnight.
The one-year-old boy and 11-month-old girl were seated in the back of a Kia Picanto found with the engine still running in Boulder, east of Perth, just after 11pm on Thursday.
The car had been reported missing almost an hour earlier.
“The children, while unharmed, were visibly shaken and crying and were relocated with their mother,” Inspector Mick Kelly said.
By the time the car was found abandoned two roads over on the corner of Ivanhoe and Piesse streets, whoever had stolen it was gone.
“Kalgoorlie detectives will conduct a thorough investigation to locate the persons or persons that have been involved in this incident,” Kelly said.
A Queensland Police officer has been suspended from the force.
The 34-year-old senior constable is due to appear in court over the alleged theft of a car.
He was not on duty at the time of the alledged car theft.
He is expected to appear in the Noosa Magistrates Court on August 5.
A ruling on whether a pro-Palestine protest can proceed across the Sydney Harbour Bridge has been pushed to Saturday.
Thousands of protesters plan to march from Lang Park near Wynyard to the US consulate in North Sydney at 1pm on Sunday, crossing the landmark bridge.
NSW Police walked into the Supreme Court on Friday afternoon to request the rally be deemed unauthorised, allowing officers to arrest people for blocking road traffic.
Police told the Supreme Court that public safety could not be guaranteed if the protest went ahead.
Organisers Palestine Action Group Sydney vowed to rally regardless of the judge’s decision, with spokesman Josh Lees saying the groundswell of support was unstoppable.
“Whether or not Palestine Action Group has anything to do with it, there are going to be tens of thousands of people gathered, determined to march for humanity over our Sydney Harbour Bridge to stop a genocide,” he said outside court.
The SUV driver was involved in a three-vehicle crash near Wagga Wagga, in central NSW.
Emergency services were called to Sturt Highway, near Lower Tarcutta Road, Tarcutta, about 50km north-east of Wagga Wagga, just before 12pm on Friday following reports of crash between two trucks and a SUV.
Paramedics found the male driver of the SUV trapped. He died at the scene.
The two male drivers of the trucks, 25 and 31, were taken to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital for mandatory testing.
A child has been hit by a marked police car in a school zone travelling under lights and sirens.
He was struck by the car on the corner of Jacaranda Av and Wembley Rd at Logan, south of Brisbane, in Queensland about 3pm.

The 10-year-old boy, believed to be a student at a nearby special school, has been taken to the Queensland’s Children’s Hospital with serious facial injuries, emergency services confirmed.
A police investigation into the incident is underway.
A portion of cliff at a popular beach has collapsed with a large amount of rock tumbling down.
The rock slip occurred at North Bronte in Sydney’s eastern suburbs just after midday on Friday, damaging a stormwater culvert and safety rail.
The site has been cordoned off and is being assessed by specialists to check cliff stability and determine whether the exclusion zone needs to be extended, Waverley Council said in a statement.
The council confirmed no one was injured in the incident, which is believed to have been caused by recent heavy rainfall.
“Please avoid the area for your safety. We’ll share updates as soon as they’re available,” the council said.
A driver has died and his passenger is fighting for life after a four-vehicle crash in the Central West of NSW.
A B-double cattle truck was one of the four vehicles involved in the smash on the Newell Hwy at Daroobalgie at 3.10pm on Thursday.
The driver of a Ford Everest, a 48-year-old man, died at the scene.
His passenger, a 31-year-old man, was found in a critical condition and was airlifted to Canberra Hospital.
A Ford Ranger rolled and caught on fire, and the cattle truck — which was not transporting cattle at the time — also erupted into flames upon impact.
The Ford Ranger and cattle truck were completely destroyed, but the occupants were not seriously injured.
The vehicle fires spread to nearby bushland, and were extinguished by NSW Fire and Rescue.
A fourth vehicle involved did not stop at the scene, and was last seen travelling north along the Newell Hwy.
Investigations are ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
An alleged predator has been charged with 15 child sex offences in WA.
The 34-year-old man from Dawesville in Mandurah, south of Perth, is charged with grooming young girls on social media before sexually assaulting them.
The alleged sexual assaults took place between February 2023 and March 2025.
“The man used phone text messaging and social media applications to meet and establish a connection with young girls,” WA Police said.
He allegedly groomed the girls online, where he arranged to meet up with them in person, and then sexually assaulted them.
The victims are aged between 13 and 16, WA Police will allege.
He will face Perth Magistrates Court on August 15.
