Today is ‘National Cheeseburger Day’.

Terri is going to show how to make her classic cheeseburger with special burger sauce.

Classic Cheeseburger with Burger Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 burger bun, toasted
  • 1 ½ tbsp burger sauce (see recipe)
  • 2 leaves green oak lettuce
  • 2 slices tomato
  • Pickles, to taste
  • 1 slice cheddar cheese
  • 100 g premium beef mince
  • Salt and pepper

Method

  1. Shape beef mince into a patty, season with salt and pepper.
  2. Cook on medium-high heat for 2 ½ mins per side. Add cheddar on top to melt.
  3. Toast bun lightly.
  4. Spread burger sauce on top bun, then layer pickles, lettuce, and tomato.
  5. Place patty on bottom bun, close, and enjoy!

Special Burger Sauce

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup whole egg mayonnaise
  • 1 ½ tablespoon American mustard
  • 2 tablespoon Ketchup
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Pinch smoked paprika
  • Pinch cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons sweet spiced gherkins, chopped roughly
  • Splash of juice from gherkins

Method

  1. In a small mixing bowl, add the mayo, mustard, and ketchup.
  2. Sprinkle in the garlic powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne.
  3. Stir until smooth and evenly combined.
  4. Fold through the chopped gherkins with a slash of liquid.
  5. Taste and enjoy!
