The Princess of Wales is known for her under-stated, refined style but the British royal isn’t afraid to add her own personal touches to her outfits.
At an official engagement on September 11, Princess Catherine was seen wearing a special necklace that immediately drew the attention of royal watchers.
During the visit to British textile manufacturers in Suffolk and Kent, she wore a gold necklace bearing the initials G, C and L – a touching tribute to her and Prince William’s three children, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louise, seven.

The popular royal has increasingly used fashion as a tool to express both personal connections and respect for tradition.
According to PEOPLE, the Gold Fixed Alphabet Necklace designed by British jeweller Daniella Draper, which retails for $510, and has been in Princess Kate’s jewellery box since 2021.

“It’s such a proud moment for me to see The Duchess of Cambridge wearing one of my designs,” Draper previously said in a statement published by E! News.
“She is such an icon to me.
“Being a proud British brand, with all our jewelry being made in the UK, it’s a real honor.”
The princess wore a tailored grey check pantsuit by British designer Bella Freud for the event and this has been interpretated as a nod to her husband.

The outfit’s pattern is known as the Prince of Wales check, the title given to Prince William following the death of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022.
Princess Catherine followed in the late Princess Diana’s footsteps with her latest look, as Prince William’s mother – another Princess of Wales — also sported the print in the late 1980s.
According to The Telegraph, during the visit to the textile mills, Princess Catherine said: “It must be amazing seeing the artwork go onto fabrics.”
“It must be such a proud thing being able to see your artwork on the catwalk or in other people’s collections,” the royal added.
“One of the things I’m really keen to do is support the creative industries and actually showcase how many amazing job opportunities there are for young people within manufacturing.”
The engagement marked Princess Catherine’s return to royal duties after the British summer break, with the royal couple expected to ramp up their appearances over the next few months.
Their next big engagement will be welcoming President Donald Trump for his second state visit — a distinction no American leader has ever received. Trump is due to land on September 16 and will stay until September 18.
Upon arrival, he will be greeted by the Prince and Princess of Wales and then King Charles III and Queen Camilla with the full trappings of royal ceremony — a guard of honor, a carriage procession and a banquet at the Waterloo Table.
