The premiership hero has a multi-year deal on the table from a rival club.

West Coast are bracing for the departure of premiership forward Liam Ryan in the upcoming trade period.

Ryan, who turns 29 in October, still has one year remaining on his deal at the Eagles, but has a multi-year offer on the table from St Kilda.

7NEWS Perth reporter Ryan Daniels said it’s increasingly likely Ryan will join the Saints.

“Teammates and staff are expecting his exit,” Daniels tweeted.

“St Kilda have a multi-year deal on offer. Ryan has one year left on his deal.

“Still a slight chance he remains at WC.”

Ryan’s potential exit will follow the likely departure of co-captain Oscar Allen, who is expected to join Brisbane as a free agent.

If Ryan joins the Saints, it will be another coup for the club after the re-signing of superstar Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera.

The young gun put pen to paper on a two-year deal worth $4 million.

Free agent ruckman Tom De Koning is also expected to join the Saints on a lucrative deal, as well as Giants defender Leek Aleer.

Ryan has played 124 games for the Eagles since being drafted with pick No.26 in 2017.

He played in the premiership-winning 2018 team, including playing a pivotal role in the lead-up to Dom Sheed’s match-winning goal against Collingwood.

The man known as Flyin’ Ryan won mark of the year in 2019, and was selected in the 2020 All-Australian team.

Ryan has kicked 22 goals from 19 games this year.

Meanwhile, Daniels also reported that Geelong champion Mitch Duncan is on West Coast’s radar as a potential assistant or development coach.

Duncan is without a contract for next year and may have played his final game in the VFL on the weekend.

The veteran has managed just nine senior games this year and doesn’t appear to be in the Cats’ best 23 for finals.
