Coach Ross Lyon says he’s not aware of player unrest at St Kilda, while doubling down on “garbage” reports of a $25 million play for Harley Reid.

The Saints are the focal point of early trade talks, with emerging star Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera considering offers from Port Adelaide and Adelaide.

St Kilda are favoured to lure ruckman Tom De Koning from Carlton on a reported $12 million, seven-year contract.

The Saints are also pitching for GWS defender Leek Aleer, but Lyon dismissed a rumoured $25 million, 12-year bid for West Coast’s Reid.

“I don’t get on my phone and go on to X and listen to garbage being reported with no rigour,” Lyon told reporters on Wednesday.

“What’s your journalistic rigour when you run with a story? I am not sure that was done.”

Asked if the reported rumour upset him, Lyon replied: “No, because you know it’s not true, so nothing to get upset about.

“Every club is in the market, I have heard the same noise.

“I talk to my players every day, but they’re private conversations ... nothing frustrates me, to be honest.

“I’m not here for the laundry list of half-baked stories. There’s not much credibility to it, to be honest.”

Lyon also dismissed reports the Saints’ interest in rivals had caused some friction with a core, including Callum Wilkie.

And he shut down a question about the improvement of Marcus Windhager, who remains uncontracted for next season while weighing offers from rivals.

“(Windhager has) played pretty well, we keep picking him and he’s an important young player,” Lyon said.

“All our players have (improved). Look, can I just put an overarching statement, I am not here to go list management pre-game, going into a Friday game.

“It’s not why we call this presser — that’s where you’re heading again.

“I’m not prepared to dive into individuals who are contracted or out.

“Enough is enough, to be honest,” he said, ending the media conference.

Earlier, Lyon said the Saints, in 13th spot with eight wins and 13 losses, had “been in form, even though we’re losing”.

St Kilda enter Friday night’s clash against Essendon on a three-game winning streak, which follows six straight defeats.

“To be honest, I thought we were playing some decent footy without getting the points ... there’s a lot to like if you dig behind the headline number of four points,” Lyon said.

“We’ll try to get another four points this week and improve our footy. Ultimately, we have got to improve our footy.”
