Harley Reid has become synonymous with fend-offs during his short AFL career, but normally the West Coast youngster is the one dishing them out.
The precocious Eagles midfielder has also made a habit of finding himself is scuffles with opposition players, which he did again against the GWS Giants on Friday night — but this time it was Reid who was on the side of the umpires.

That hasn’t always been true for Reid, who was awarded a free kick against the Giants when GWS skipper tried to give him a taste of his own medicine.
Just moments after initiating a first scuffle for the night on the boundary line of Optus Stadium, Reid copped a high fend-off from Greene, who then whacked his opponent on the chest when he thought he had disposed of him.
Reid was put on his back as Greene started to run off before being pulled up by the umpire’s whistle, which was rightly blown for a free kick.
“High fend from Toby Greene and that’s gone right up into the chin of Harley Reid,” Adam Papalia said on Fox Sports.
“He’s normally the one dishing out the fend.”
A similar incident concussed North Melbourne midfielder Luke Davies-Uniacke on Thursday night.

But Dermott Brereton laughed it off.
“He thought he’d set the kid straight there (laughs),” Brereton said.
“That’s classic Toby.
“Just saying you’re not the only one who can do this.
“A forearm chop to the top of the sternum.”
The hit sparked another fracas between the two sides as tempers flared.
Reid was given the free kick and nearly a 50-metre penalty when Greene aggressively threw the ball back.
