A young man has been airlifted to hospital after he was stabbed in the neck.

The man was stabbed in an alleged attack at a home on Webb Crt in Bingil Bay, a coastal town almost two hours south of Cairns, about 3.50am on Saturday.

A man in his 20s had sustained a stab wound to his neck, Queensland Police said.

He was taken by to Tully Hospital in a stable condition before being airlifted to Cairns Hospital.

“The offender left the scene prior to police arrival,” Queensland Police said.

Investigations are ongoing.
