A young female paramedic has allegedly been assaulted while on duty in Sydney’s eastern beaches.
The 24-year-old paramedic was called to a concern for welfare job on the intersection of Bunnerong Rd and Daunt Ave, Matraville, about 3.50pm on Friday.
She began treating an intoxicated 66-year-old man at the scene before he was put in an ambulance to be taken to Prince of Wales Hospital for treatment.

While the man was in the ambulance, he allegedly threatened the woman before he began to punch her in the torso and arms, police said.
“Police immediately attended and assisted paramedics taking the man to hospital under police guard,” they said.
“Following inquiries, the man was released from hospital and taken to Mascot Police Station where he was charged with assault frontline health worker, no actual bodily harm.”
The paramedic did not require treatment.
The man was refused bail to is due to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Saturday.
