Woman struck by car on her daily walk in Toorak Gardens

The 69-year-old died at the scene in the affluent suburb she called home.

A woman has died after being struck by a car as she was on her daily walk.

Emergency services rushed to Bolingbroke Grove in Toorak Gardens, Adelaide, just before 12pm on Saturday following reports a pedestrian had been hit.

Despite the efforts of first responders, the 69-year-old local woman died at the scene.

Police said the driver of the Toyota four-wheel drive — a 72-year-old man, also from Toorak Gardens — was not injured in the incident.

Officers from the Major Crash Investigation Unit attended the scene and launched an investigation.

The man has since been reported for causing death by careless driving.

He was issued with an immediate loss of licence and will be summoned to appear in court at a later date.

The woman’s death marks the 60th life lost on South Australian roads so far this year.
