Police say the bodies appear to have been there for ‘a considerable amount of time’.

Two bodies have been found inside a home, where it is believed they had been for some time.

The grim find at the home on Knight St at Arncliffe in southern Sydney was reported to NSW Police about 2pm on Tuesday.

The bodies of a man and a woman were found in separate rooms.

While their identities have not yet been confirmed, the man is believed to be aged in his 70s and the woman aged in her 90s.

Their bodies appear to have been at the location “for a considerable amount of time”, NSW Police said.

The pair is believed to be a mother and son who had lived in the home for many years but had not answered calls for about five weeks, as reported by The Daily Telegraph.

The outlet reports the son, who was caring for his elderly mother, is suspected to have died first.

His mother is believed to have died some time later.

A crime scene has been established and investigations are underway.
