A teenager has been killed in an e-scooter highway crash in north Queensland on Saturday.

The 18-year-old man from Mount Louisa crashed while riding on the Flinders Hwy at Roseneath, in Townsville’s outer suburbs, about 1am.

The young man was found fighting for life with significant injuries when he was located by emergency services, Queensland Police said.

He was taken to Townsville University Hospital in a critical condition.

The 18-year-old man died in hospital a short time later.
