Inspector Jane Healy said police were called to the home by a 15-year-old boy.
The boy was taken into custody and has since been charged with one count of murder.
“As far as I’m aware he is the only person who was aware of what had happened and police currently have him in custody and are working through the situation with him,” Healy said.
About 30 teenagers were also at the property where it’s believed a house party was taking place.

Healy described the scene as “chaotic” and “confusing”.
Police with sniffer dogs were canvassing the area on Thursday night.
The teenager was refused police bail and is due to appear in Brisbane Childrens Court on Friday.
