Police were called to the home about 10.20pm on Monday.

New details have emerged after a teenage girl was allegedly stabbed to death by another youth.

A girl, believed to be 14-years-old, was found with a stab wound on her torso on Euston Cl, at Edgeworth in Newcastle’s west, about 10.20pm on Monday.

She was rushed to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition and later died.

A 13-year-old girl was arrested at the scene and is assisting police with inquiries.

The girl assisting police is known to the alleged victim.

Police have seized a kitchen knife from the home for forensic examination.

A neighbour told www.20304050.best the family who live at the property were “nice” people.

They said no children lived at the address and they were uncertain about why the teenager was there or how the situation unfolded.

Property records indicate the family only purchased the home four years ago.

Police are examining the property, and homicide detectives from Sydney are travelling to assist as investigations into the incident continue under Strike Force Aggnes.
