Shots fired at home in Sydney’s Mount Druitt: ‘Extremely alarming’

Five adults and six children were inside the property at the time.

Eleven people, including several children, have escaped injury after a string of shots were fired at a home.

Up to 30 shots were peppered at a home on Frank St, Mount Druitt in Sydney’s west at about 1.20am on Friday morning.

Moments earlier, a small black sedan was seen driving slowly down the road before firing shots and then driving off.

Five adults and six children were inside the home at the time, however no one was injured.

Police say the attack was targeted towards one occupant of the home who is known to police.

The house has been targeted before.

Superintendent Darrin Batchelor said the incident was “quite worrying” given the number of children inside the home.

“It’s a targeted attack but to have no concern for other occupants inside that house including young children ... is extremely alarming,” he said.

The intended target of the attack was reportedly inside the home at the time.

Batchelor said there round of shots fired were aimed at the home and the street.

It’s unclear how many people were in the black car and what the motive for the attack was.

Police are searching for the vehicle and canvassing the area for CCTV.
