Police have launched an investigation into the blaze.

A Sydney childcare centre has been damaged after it was the target of an arsonist in the early hours of Friday morning.

Firefighters were called to the centre on the Pacific Highway at Turramurra at just before 4.25am on Friday, following reports of a blaze at the premises.

Firefighters managed to extinguish the fire quickly, which caused minor damage to the building.

No-one was injured in the fire.

Police are conducting an investigation.
