Further details are emerging about the victims of a horrific killing in Melbourne’s southeast as police work to piece together a possible motive.
The bodies of 39-year-old pregnant woman Athena Georgopoulos and 50-year-old Andrew Gunn were found inside a home on Adrienne Cres in Mount Waverley about 9.55pm on Monday.

7NEWS understands Gunn was decapitated, with his head found on a stick.
Ross Judd, a 34-year-old homeless man, was arrested at Westall train station, in Melbourne’s southeast, several hours later.
Police are continuing to try to establish a motive for the murder, with one line of inquiry relating to a possible dog dispute between Judd and Gunn.
Gunn had a german shepherd which the neighbours say was named Dragon, and Judd was found with two dogs of the same breed when he was arrested.
One neighbour said she heard loud arguing and shouting, along with continuous barking from dogs, coming from the victims’ home about an hour before they were allegedly killed.
Two german shepherds were with Judd when he allegedly attended a McDonald’s about an hour after the bodies were found.

It has also been revealed Georgopoulos was expecting a baby girl.
She was five months pregnant when she was killed.
Judd has been charged with two counts of murder and fronted court for the first time on Wednesday.
During the brief hearing, police sought a 10-week extension for the submission of further details as investigations continue.
“It’s a complex crime scene, a significant amount of DNA,” the police prosecutor said.
Defence lawyer Annie Allan said it was Judd’s first time in custody and requested he see a prison nurse to follow up on medication.
The accused stared straight ahead throughout the hearing and responded “yeah, I do” when Magistrate Johanna Metcalf outlined his next court appearance details and asked if he understood.
He smiled when Metcalf granted a media application to access his charges but refused other materials.
Judd is due to next face court via video link on January 13, 2026.
