Australians are being warned of potential injuries as a common kitchen product is pulled from Kmart and Target shelves across the country.
A portable blender sold at Kmart and Target has been recalled due to the potential of the products to “self-activate” in water.
“If the base of the product is immersed in water, it may self-activate without pressing the ON/OFF button,” the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) said.

The consumer watchdog said there was a risk of serious injury to owners of the blenders, “including laceration from the exposed blades”, and that some injuries have already occurred.
Those who own one of the white, blue, green or lilac portable blenders sold at Kmart and Target online and in stores, have been told to stop using the product immediately and to place away from any water.
“Return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund,” the ACCC said.
“(And) contact the place of purchase if you are unable to return the product or have sold or gifted it to another person.”
The blenders were made in China and were available for purchase between January 23, 2025 and September 3, 2025 both nationally and internationally.
