The man was rushed to hospital with critical head injuries.

A pedestrian is fighting for life after being hit by a car in Sydney‘s southwest.

The 58-year-old man was walking on Cabramatta Rd in Mount Pritchard when he was struck by a BMW sedan about 11.15pm on Tuesday.

Paramedics rushed to the scene and found the man unconscious nearby.

He was treated for critical head injuries, before being taken to Liverpool Hospital.

The driver, a 45-year-old man, was uninjured and taken to Fairfield Hospital for mandatory testing.

NSW Police said a crime scene has been established and an investigation into the incident has begun.
