The suspects who sprayed a fire extinguisher into a car with a baby inside remain on the run after the shocking attack.

Police are urgently seeking help to identify two people who may be able to assist with investigations into a stolen fire extinguisher being discharged at a vehicle at Sippy Downs on the Sunshine Coast on June 15.

At around 7.50pm, two teenage suspects on an e-bike sprayed a stolen fire extinguisher through the open rear window of a silver Suzuki Vitara stopped at High St traffic lights, covering the whole car in white smoke and powder, including the baby.

The five-month-old was strapped into the seat of the car driven by her father.

The driver, 29, and the baby girl suffered minor injuries in the attack.

The father struggled to breathe and rushed to remove his daughter from the vehicle, with the baby later hospitalised for dry skin, red rashes, and bloodshot eyes.

Police confirmed the fire extinguisher had been stolen hours earlier from a nearby car park on Courage Street.

The baby’s mother made a heartfelt plea to the culprits.

“Grow up, stop terrorising people, do good with your life.

“There’s absolutely no need for this.”

Authorities are appealing to anyone with information about the two people in the vision to contact police.
