A woman who was killed in a horror car crash while the driver allegedly had drugs and alcohol in his system has been remembered as a loving mother-of-two.
Katrina Rae Hand, 42, was a passenger in the car when it veered of Cessnock Road, at Pokolbin in NSW’s Hunter Valley, and slammed into a tree about 2.30am on March 28 this year.
Hand died at the scene while the alleged driver of the car, Steven Munn, 46, was treated by paramedics for serious injuries.

Munn then taken in a stable condition to John Hunter Hospital, where he underwent mandatory testing.
Following a five-month investigation, police on Sunday charged Munn with four offences, including dangerous driving occasioning death — drive under influence, negligent driving occasioning death, negligent driving, and driving with an illicit drug present in blood.
He was issued with a Court Attendance Notice for next month.

Since her death, online tributes have poured in for Hand, who was late of Cessnock and Tamworth.
“Rest easy Kat,” one friend wrote.
“You’ll be missed.”
“Rip beautiful,” another friend said.
“So sad to hear this! Way too young.”
Hand was laid to rest in a funeral service on April 9 at Peterson House Chapel at Pokolbin.
Her obituary described her as a “loving mother” towards her son and daughter and “much loved daughter and sister”.
Munn is set to appear before Singleton Local Court on September 25.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
