Australia’s largest ski resort has been covered in fresh snow less than two weeks ahead of its official opening.
The seven peaks of Perisher got a dusting over 5cm deep, as cold temperatures hit the Snowy Mountains of NSW overnight.
“Overnight temps dropped to a fresh -3C and, combined with plenty of precipitation, Perisher is wearing some white this morning,” Perisher Ski Resort said on Tuesday.

“It’s the perfect prelude to the season and we’re counting down the days until we’re ripping in again.”
Snow stakes measure up to 10cm of snow on some of Perisher’s mountains.
More snow is expected to blanket the region throughout Tuesday.
The first snow of the season at Perisher arrived as light dustings in early and mid-May, and netizens keeping watch have welcomed more of the woolly weather.
The ski resort is set to open on June 7, coinciding with the King’s Birthday long weekend and the three-day Peak Music Festival scheduled to kick off the season.
Winter sport enthusiasts are also set to hit the slopes at Australia’s other major ski resorts, Falls Creek, Mount Buller, Mount Hotham, and Thredbo, on the June long weekend.
