P-plater loses licence after car rolls and alleged drink driving

The 18-year-old woman returned a reading of of 0.117.

A young woman has been caught allegedly drink driving after her car crashed in Adelaide’s inner-southern suburbs.

Police responded to reports that an SUV had crashed into a parked car on Northgate St at Unley at about 3.30am on Monday.

The 18-year-old from Hyde Park escaped the SUV with no injuries.

She returned a breath test reading of 0.117, which is twice the legal limit allowed of a fully licensed driver.

Checks on her licence revealed that she held a P2 licence, which means she was not allowed to consume any alcohol while driving.

She was reported for drink driving, due care and breach of licence.

The woman was issued with an instant six-month loss of licence and will be summoned to attend court at a later date.
