A woman from New South Wales has erupted in shock and joy after discovering she’d won a life-changing $4.2 million in Saturday’s Lotto draw.
The ecstatic player, from Wellington in the state’s Central Western Slopes region, held one of seven division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4593, drawn on July 26. Each winner walked away with a staggering $4,285,714.29.
Upon learning of her good fortune, the winner let out a colourful outburst while at work, grateful that no customers were present to witness the moment.

“F***ing hell. Wow. I’m glad you warned me to sit down,” she said.
“I just won $4.2 million. I’m at work now, but there are no customers here, luckily. I’m ecstatic. Oh my god. I can’t believe this.”
She credited an unexpected omen for the windfall: a peculiar Facebook video. “It’s funny, I had seen a thing on Facebook that said, ‘If you watch this until the end, a large sum of money will come your way’. I didn’t really think anything of it, and here we are.”
With the winnings, the woman plans to pay off her house and car. “I’ll be completely debt-free. I can’t believe I’m saying that right now,” she said.
Having played Lotto since she was 18, she said her previous biggest win was $400 — now dwarfed by her multi-million dollar prize.
“I’ve got to call my husband. This is brilliant. Thank you for the great news,” she added.
Her winning 18-game QuickPick ticket was purchased at Wellington Newsagency on Percy Street.
Store owner Patrick Slack-Smith said he was thrilled to hear the outlet had sold another winning ticket.
“I was amazed to hear we’d sold another big win. This time worth over $4m,” he said. “It will generate a positive buzz around town. We’ll be putting up balloons and letting customers know the exciting news.”
Slack-Smith said this wasn’t the first time the store had hit the jackpot. “We’ve had at least nine division wins now over 30 years. The one that stands out was a big Oz Lotto win in 1994, just after my parents had bought the business.”
He offered his congratulations to the winner, adding, “Have fun and don’t go too crazy with it.”
