The house where a man and woman were found dead in a “targeted attack” was known as “problematic” within the neighbourhood.
Two bodies were found inside a home on Adrienne Cres in Mount Waverley, in Melbourne‘s southeast, about 9.55pm on Monday.
After an almost four-hour police hunt, a 34-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested at Westall train station about 1.40am on Tuesday.

Neighbours have told www.20304050.best that a man lived at the graffiti-covered home with a dog.
Neighbours say the dog, which they believed was not registered with the council, had been involved in several attacks on locals.
One local resident said the man who lived at the address often appeared to be “off his face” on drugs.
The man was often visited at his home by his brother, who would travel to the area from the Mornington Peninsula, and the siblings both appeared to live with cognitive impairments, a neighbour said.
It is understood the man who lived at the home and a female visitor are the two victims.
The grim discovery unfolded when police received a call saying that yelling could be heard from the home about 9.20pm.

They then received a second call suggesting the situation was more “urgent”, Detective Inspector Dean Thomas said.
Police soon identified a person of interest and a manhunt was launched involving the Critical Incident Response team and AirWing.
The 34-year-old was found with two large dogs and was “peacefully” taken into custody, Thomas said.
The victims have not yet been formally identified but it is believed the deceased male was the occupant of the home.
Thomas said the attack on the pair appears to have been targeted.
“We believe that there is a link between our suspect and the address but we’re just working together at this point to make sense of what that means and what it all looks like,” he said.
“The suspect has arrived at the address and then obviously an altercation has occurred which had led to the male and female being killed and the subject has then left the address.”
It is unclear how the man and woman were killed but it is believed a weapon was used.
There is nothing to suggest a gun was used, Thomas said, but a post mortem examination will determine the exact nature of their injuries.
“We’ve got our major crime scene examiners ... examining the scene at the moment, that will take quite some time. That will go for the best part of the day,” he said.

The suspect will be interviewed by detectives on Tuesday.
7NEWS footage shows messages spray-painted on the home and on a fence opposite the property.
The messages include “enough is enough”, “karma has no menu” and references to veganism such as “meat is murder”.
Police say they are investigating if the graffiti is linked to the deaths.
“Homicide Squad detectives will work to determine if the graffiti is relevant to the murder investigation,” Victoria Police said.
Thomas urged anyone with any information to come forward.
“We’re appealing for anybody who may have seen suspicious activity on Adrienne Cres anywhere from about 9.20pm last night obviously down to Ferntree Gully Rd and anywhere in between that location and the Westall train station,” he said.
