Two NSW schools and a home have been evacuated due to a ruptured gas line.

New Hope Christian School and Pacific Hills Christian School were evacuated as a precaution when workers ruptured a gas line on Quarry Rd near Harris Rd in Dural — in Sydney’s northwest outskirts, about an hour from the CBD — about 2pm on Tuesday.

Workers are currently excavating the road to turn off the gas.

“As a precautionary measure, Pacific Hills and New Hope Christian School are currently being evacuated due to a gas leak on a property adjacent to the school,” the schools told its community on Tuesday afternoon.

“There is no immediate danger, but this action is being taken out of an abundance of caution.

“The local fire department is on site and actively working to assess and clear the area.

“We kindly ask the public to avoid the area until further notice to allow emergency services to do their work safely and efficiently.

“We will provide updates as soon as more information becomes available. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.”
