Murder suspect arrested at train station in Logan after critically injured victim dies

The man’s alleged victim was found with life-threatening injuries, which he succumbed to the next day.

A suspect has been charged over the murder of a resident from Greater Brisbane.

The victim, a 50-year-old man, was found unconscious and with critical injuries in a unit complex on Ryan St in West End about 4.30am on Saturday, and died the following night in hospital.

Police located the suspect at Woodridge train station, on the Beenleigh line, in Logan.

The 42-year-old man from Fortitude Valley was taken into custody and charged with murder.

He is set to face Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday.

Information shared with police by community members was key to the investigation, police said.

They allege the suspect was known to the people who lived in the West End unit.

Investigations are ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
