The rider, believed to be aged in his 40s, died at the scene.

A man has died after crashing his motorcycle into a guardrail in northern NSW on Sunday.

Emergency services were called to Summerland Way in Kyogle — about 75 minutes west of Byron Bay — about 2pm.

The motorcyclist, who is yet to be formally identified but is believed to have been aged in his 40s, was treated by paramedics but died at the scene.

Police have established a crime scene and investigations are under way.
