Police are appealing to the public for information.

The victim of a violent ambush was allegedly in a dispute with his attacker just hours before she arrived at his door on Monday night.

The woman was with two masked men when she knocked on the door of the 53-year-old man’s Lorna Lim Tce home at Driver, a Palmerston suburb 20-minutes east of Darwin CBD, about 10.40pm.

“When the victim’s partner opened the door, she and two other masked men entered the house and located the victim in his room,” Northern Territory Police said.

“One of the masked men allegedly assaulted the victim with a wooden plank and the second masked man assaulted him with a chain.”

The three alleged offenders then fled the scene.

The 53-year-old man suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the ambush.

NT Police and St John Ambulance were called to the scene, and paramedics took the victim to Palmerston Regional Hospital.

His partner was not injured during the incident.

Serious Crime detectives are investigating the incident and have called on the public for any relevant information.
