A two-year-old child feared taken in a car reportedly stolen from a hotel has been found alive and well.
And in a twist update on Friday afternoon, WA Police said that it was now clear the car had not been stolen and no offence had occurred.
Police launched an emergency operation to find a dark blue Hyundai i30 hatchback thought to have been stolen from Redcliffe, in Perth’s east, at about 2pm on Friday.

“WA Police Force officers are urgently seeking the public’s assistance for information to locate a stolen vehicle,” WA Police said earlier.
“A two-year-old child was in the vehicle at the time it was stolen.”
More than 90 minutes later, police said the child had been located “safe and well”.
In a further update it was revealed the toddler was found in Belmont and the car was located in Bayswater, but no crime had occurred.
“Significant police resources were utilised to locate the child and the vehicle,” WA Police said.
“Further inquiries have revealed the car was not stolen, and no criminal offences have been detected.”
