There’s no client list.
That’s what the man who was hired to defend Jeffrey Epstein swears.

David Schoen is the criminal defence lawyer who Epstein hired nine days before his death to take over his case.
Schoen said he took on the job after Epstein told him: “You’re the only person I trust with my life.”
Well from six feet under, Epstein can rest easy knowing he hired a lawyer that will still defend him even in death.
Schoen had built a working relationship with Epstein over the course of years providing him with legal counsel.
“What I do feel very strongly about with Jeffrey Epstein and every other client I’ve ever had, is that they’re entitled to the presumption of innocence,” Schoen said.
“So unless and until this information was proven, I would say yes. I don’t believe it.
“If it’s proven, then I would believe it.”
Jeffrey Epstein was a convicted sex offender.
He pleaded guilty to soliciting prostitution and soliciting prostitution from a minor in 2008.

In 2019, Schoen was hired to take on his case after the disgraced financier was arrested again — this time facing federal sex trafficking charges.
The FBI and the Department of Justice have since released a memo saying he abused more than 1000 victims.
But he died in custody before his day in court. It was officially ruled a suicide.
His untimely death and his well known connections to the rich, famous, and powerful have fuelled conspiracy theories.
One of the most prolific being that he kept a client list.
“I picture this client list they have in mind, sort of notes from Jeffrey Epstein,” Schoen said.
“I set up X with this girl on this date. There’s no such thing.
“It wasn’t his nature anyway. Part of the theory behind that is that maybe he intended to engage in blackmail. That also wasn’t Jeffrey Epstein.
“You can be sure that once he was indicted, if he had this information about all of these famous people involved with young women, that would have been in his interest to bring that forward to the government, to get a better deal for himself.”
Schoen recently made headlines after he shared on social media that he had personally asked Epstein while preparing the case if he had any dirt on Donald Trump.
“Well, first of all, you know, Donald Trump wasn’t the only person I asked him about,” Schoen said.
“There’s no dirt on Donald Trump. Donald Trump didn’t do anything illegal with me. That’s the gist of what he said.”

Schoen also accused members of the Trump camp of over hyping what might be in the so-called Epstein files.
“I think that they in some sense created it,” Schoen said.
“I think that some of these folks, perhaps Attorney General Bondi, Kash Patel, Dan Bongino, spoke before they really had all of the facts.”
“They didn’t know what they had yet. There was no client list. And then they reviewed the documents and they saw there isn’t anything more of any material value to turn over.”
Schoen also represented Trump during his second impeachment trial, and by his own admission may be biased. He was careful not to blame the US president for adding fuel to the fire when it came to the conspiracy theories.
“I certainly have a duty, a continuing duty to Donald Trump as a client to act in his best interest,” he said.
The Epstein controversy has dogged Donald Trump for weeks, causing a split within the usually very loyal MAGA base.
The US president has tried his normal deflect and distract strategy, but this time it hasn’t appeared to work.
Calls for the release of all the files are still loud — some of the loudest calls are coming from his supporter base.
Schoen believes that at this point nothing will satisfy those calling for more information.
“And I don’t think they’ll ever be satisfied…they’re going to say there must be more.”
The ghost of Jeffrey Epstein is shaping up to be one of the biggest political problems of Donald Trump’s second term — one that’s taken on a life of its own.
